Welcome to my favorite room in the house, Maverick's nursery! It gives off such peaceful vibes and makes me want to head there to escape the everyday chaos. A perfect place to nurse in peace! Anyway, this is the nursery I dreamed of for my baby boy when I found out I was pregnant the first time in 2015 and didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl yet.

I tried sticking to a budget since, yano, second child problems. We really had most of the necessary items already. We used the furniture we already had from Emersyn's nursery. The crib is by Fisher Price. I bought Gorilla Grip shelf liner to secure the changing pad on the existing dresser, this saved us from having to buy a changing table.
This budget nursery was super simple to put together thanks to Target's line Black & White Nursery Room - Cloud Island. The linens are all from Target which made them super inexpensive and I checked, they're still selling most of this set! I found the curtain panel on clearance for $7 because it was the only one left at my store! Yeee I love a good find.

When we bought the house, the room was a deep blue and although I originally thought -oh good, one less room to paint, but I really didn't want to settle like we did when we rented. So JT got up on the ladder and painted it for me. :) We painted it the same color we have in our family room and I am SO happy we did. It's my favorite part of the room. We received the adorable personalized plush rocker and chair from Pottery Barn as a surprise gift from my family and I LOVE them so much. They make the sweetest additions in the room and the best part is they're functional and will grow with him!

The Snake Plant plant is a hardy plant that takes a beating so I don't think I can kill it, even when I forget to give it some light sometimes!
I grabbed the neutral seagrass basket at one of my ikea hauls and it was only $12.99! Along with the basket, I found the two white photo shelves while I was there and purchased the large size. (The striped laundry basket is also from ikea!)
The stool, area rug and woven wall hanging were all HomeGoods finds!

I had the paper tissue pom pom balls from years ago hiding in my craft storage. I used two of them in Emersyn's nursery and decided to use them again in his room. The mobile I really wanted just wasn't in my budget and the DIY version was tooooo much work for me to take on with a full time job and a toddler. I also had the table lamp stored away, I think this one in particular was from Target.
The large sign above his dresser was found on clearance at hobby lobby when I wasn't looking for it! I had actually already had a sign that I didn't love but served its purpose and then when I saw the price on this, I snagged it quicker than you could say damaged goods. I think one of the sides was loose, nothing a tap of the hammer couldn't fix!

As convenient as a monitor that connects to wifi and can be seen on your phone could be, we had heard some negative reviews about the safety and decided that it wasn't for us. We decided to register for the Summer Infant baby monitor with a 5inch LCD screen and we LOVE it. We got it from my in-laws as a gift and they also ordered us a separate video camera that we installed in Emmy's room. It fluctuates between the two monitors throughout the night and makes us feel so at ease. I'd highly recommend it!

Most of his nursery items from Target have been in and out of stock... womp. So keep an eye out, but I hope this brought a little insight to Mav's monochrome nursery and a little inspiration for your own!
With grace & gratitude,
Caitlyn
