Oh, shiplap! The big reveal.

ree

It all started with a mirror I found on clearance at Homegoods....

The day before Mother's Day I casually 😉 mentioned how I reallllllyyyyy wanted shiplap in our guest bathroom but I felt guilty asking my husband (who works two jobs) to help me do it. The next morning my DH was at Home Depot hand picking out 7" shiplap boards and measuring what we needed to make my shiplap dreams a reality! *insert girl squeal*

He had to spoil the surprise because he needed me to tell him what paint color I wanted and what sheen. I am still in disbelief. It's by far my favorite room in the house! My dad and husband teamed up and knocked it out of the park together. I've mentioned before that my dad is like a carpenter god so he was able to give JT some pointers help him learn the ropes. My dad also had just finished doing shiplap in both of his bathrooms so he already had plenty of practice! I’m incredibly grateful for all the hard work, patience and time executed by both of them in making my shiplap dreams come true.

The detail that went into installing the shiplap, the corner cuts and the angles was astonishing and wayyyy more in depth than either of us realized. Even painting it was quite a project. BUT - it got done! It's easily my favorite room in the house.

I linked all sources for you at the bottom of the post. The "m" stool and the "PULL" knobs are HomeGoods finds, along with the mirror I found for $18! The sign above the toilet was a DIY that I typed up, printed on my printer and framed.

If you can't find me, I'm probably sitting in the bathroom alone with the door locked eating Nutella.

Just kidding, I'm a mom. They always find us.
