Growing up my mom made every Valentine's Day extra special for my brother and I so I love celebrating the holiday with my own littles now! Plus, who doesn't love all the pink & little hearts?! For the last three years, Emersyn and I have made these homemade heart shaped mini pop tarts for Valentine's Day breakfast, she loves being super festive. A perfect way to start the day (and fill those tiny tummies!) They're fun to make, under 5 ingredients (key to lifeeee) and delicious!

I love that now that she is three we can do this fun little breakfast together! This recipe yields 12 mini pop tarts.
(9 if you're 3 year old is cutting out the shapes!)

Ingredients:
Double Pie Crust
½ cup Strawberry Jam
1 cup finely chopped strawberries
Serve with Pink (Strawberry) Milk!

Directions:
Roll out the pre-made pie dough into a large thin disk using a little flour on the top and bottom of the dough disk to prevent sticking. (Our's came like this.)
Cut out mini heart shapes using a cookie cutter. You can also cut into small squares if you don’t have a heart shaped cookie cutter.
Place the bottom layer heart dough shapes on a lined cookie sheet.
Mix the strawberry jam and chopped strawberries together in a bowl.
Spoon small amounts of the strawberry filling onto each dough shape (**less is more!)

Place another heart dough layer on the top and seal both the layers + filling together by pressing down on the edges using a fork.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until edges are golden brown.
Remove, let cool & serve warm!

Add these quick ingredients to your next Shipt order & make some memories with your littles this Valentine's Day!
PS. Better Homes & Gardens just put this same idea on their magazine cover! I'm always on the same page as those guys.
With grace & gratitude,
Caitlyn
