Spending quality family time while being a military wife, a mom and a photographer is quite the balancing act. There are only so many days that my DH is home that we get to spend together or where he can watch our little one while I shoot! We took the ferry ride on the Neuse River from Cherry Branch to Minnesott Beach + drove to a quaint little town called Oriental, NC where I was able to do it all! I was in seaside town heaven! We stopped at the cutest little neighborhood coffee shop, The Bean ( don't quote me but it easily could have been the ONLY one in the town) had some yummy Cafe au Lait + E had a cranberry orange oatmeal cookie that I may or may not have nibbled on. We met some sweet locals took us under their 'wing' and let us feed the ducks with them! (See what I did there!) There were sailboats EVERYWHERE we drove past, big ones, small ones, some under construction, some in the shop on land...everywhere.
There were these small paths tucked between homes that held a wooden bench at the end where you can sit and have views like the photo above! What an incredible morning we had, we took the ferry back to town and were home in time for her nap! If anyone is over here in Coastal Carolina / Southern Outer Banks, definitely put this little town on your bucket list!
