Lot's of you want to know about child friendly home decor - for obvious reasons!
I was super lucky with my first, she pretty much listened and didn't touch my stuff after I told her 'no' once. Now I have a little boy and I’m having a total opposite experience this time around! We want to love the space we live in and we also want it to be a safe environment for our tiny (adorable) monstea. Here's my recommendations:
Keep CALM & decor on!

keep it cozy with throws - This is super simple and one of my go-to decor ideas! Gather your like-colored throw blankets and throw pillows and use them as decor. Mine are usually neutral colored because I loveeeeee neutrals and it carries you throughout the year. Take my TV console for instance, I currently have a small stack of two pillows: a plain white one from ikea and a pillow I got years ago at TJ Maxx sitting on top of it. On the opposite end, I have a double stack of throw blankets - shades of cream. It’s cozy and simple and 100% child friendly!

keep it simple - Just because you own it, doesn't mean you have to display it year-round. Keep an area that's out of reach to kids - a table centerpiece, or countertop display for example - as an area where you can interchange your non child friendly items. Tuck the rest away in a storage closet and trade it out with the seasons. Use baskets to store all the things, keeping it clutter free.

keep it glass-free: frames - Remember my entryway gallery wall with framed black and white family photos? Well if you’re new here, you probably don‘t so I’ll round up a blog post about those too. Anyway, they are definitely in reach of both of my children at this point. My kids have both been curious to touch or 'clean' them, but they are made with a glass-free frame and installed properly on the walls with anchors. This way I really don't have to worry when I'm in the kitchen and one babe is in his walker and one's running wild in plastic heels and faux doctor glasses obstructing her view.

Do you have any favorite child friendly decor ideas that you incorporate into your own space? I’d love to hear about it!
With grace & gratitude,
Caitlyn
